The 2024-25 School year aligns with the 2024-25 North American competitive season. 2024-25 Regional Finals & Canadian Checkpoint
All teams start their competition season by competing in the Regional Finals (US Teams) or Canadian Checkpoint (Canadian Teams). Teams will need to compete to qualify for the National Finals.
When: December 7th, 2024
Where: Virtually Via Zoom! Teams will mail in one car for racing
Important Dates:
October 1st - Registration Opens
November 8th - Registration Closes
November 29th - Car mailed to F1 in Schools NA
December 1st - Digital Submission of Project Elements
December 7th - Racing premieres and LIVE Awards Ceremony
Who: All Affiliated Teams are invited to compete!
Why: For US Teams, top finishers from the Regional Finals will qualify for the in-person National Finals later in the season! For Canadian Teams, the Checkpoint is a requirement for all teams to advance to the National Finals.
Registration Fee: USD$250 per team

When: April 7-9th, 2025
Where: Charlotte, North Carolina
Who Can Compete? Teams in the US must qualify by placing in the top 40 at the Regional Finals. Teams in Canada must participate in the Canadian Checkpoint (all teams are invited to the National Finals this year).

Expected Costs
The budget per student team varies greatly from team to team. An estimated budget for the 2023/24 season is shown below (this is an example only based on previous competitors’ budgets and not set amounts; teams should create their own budget based on their needs). Student teams typically fundraise their entire budget via sponsorships, in-kind donations, and/or fundraisers.
